ന്യൂഡൽഹി∙ 5ജി ടെലികോം കവറേജ് ആരംഭിച്ച് ഒരു വർഷം തികയുമ്പോൾ രാജ്യത്തെ ശരാശരി ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് ഡൗൺലോഡ് വേഗത്തിൽ മൂന്നര മടങ്ങ് വർധന. വേഗം കണക്കാക്കുന്ന ‘ഊക‍്‍ല’ പോർട്ടലിന്റെ കണക്കനുസരിച്ച് രാജ്യത്തെ ശരാശരി ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് വേഗം സെക്കൻഡിൽ 13.87 എംബിയായിരുന്നത് 50.21 എംബിയായി.
ഇന്റർനെറ്റ് വേഗവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പട്ടികയിൽ 119–ാം സ്ഥാനത്തായിരുന്ന ഇന്ത്യ 47ാമതായി.
സമീപരാജ്യങ്ങളെ മാത്രമല്ല, ജി20 രാജ്യങ്ങളായ ബ്രിട്ടൻ (62), ജപ്പാൻ (58), തുർക്കി (68), മെക്സിക്കോ (90), ബ്രസീൽ (50), ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്ക (48) എന്നിവയെയും ഇന്ത്യ മറികടന്നു. 5ജി ശൃംഖല മാത്രം പരിഗണിച്ചാൽ, കേരളമടക്കം 9 ടെലികോം സർക്കിളിൽ ശരാശരി വേഗം 100 എംബിപിഎസ് ആയിരുന്നത് ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ ഓഗസ്റ്റിൽ 240 എംബിപിഎസ് ആയി ഉയർന്നു.
