‘‘മത്സരം സംപ്രേക്ഷണം ചെയ്യുന്ന ചാനലുകളിലെ ചർച്ചകളിൽ കളിയേക്കുറിച്ചാണ് സംസാരിക്കേണ്ടതും വിലയിരുത്തേണ്ടതും. അല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ ഇന്നലെ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് എന്താണ് കഴിച്ചതെന്നോ ഡൽഹിയിൽ എനിക്ക് ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ചോലെ ബട്ടൂര കിട്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തെക്കുറിച്ചല്ല. ഇത്തരം ചർച്ചകൾ എങ്ങനെയാണ് ക്രിക്കറ്റ് മത്സരങ്ങൾക്കിടെ നടത്തുക? ഒരു താരം കടന്നുപോകുന്ന അവസ്ഥയും അയാളുടെ പ്രകടനവുമല്ലേ ചർച്ചയാകേണ്ടത്’ – കോലി ചോദിച്ചു.

‘‘ഇന്ത്യയെ കായിക രംഗത്തെ മുൻനിര രാജ്യമാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണ് നാം സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്. നമ്മുടെ പരിശ്രമവും അതിനാണ്. അക്കാര്യത്തിൽ നമുക്ക് വ്യക്തമായ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുണ്ട്. അതിനായുള്ള അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായ കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ നാം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നത്.’ – കോലി പറഞ്ഞു.

‘‘ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് നിൽക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരുടെയും കൂട്ടത്തരവാദിത്തമാകണം ഈ സ്വപ്നത്തിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര. നമുക്ക് ലഭ്യമായ സൗകര്യങ്ങളോ പണം നിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്ന ആളുകളോ മാത്രം ചിന്തിച്ചിട്ട് കാര്യമില്ല. ഈ മത്സരവുമായി ഏതു വിധത്തിലാണെങ്കിലും ചേർന്നുനിൽക്കുന്നവർക്കെല്ലാം ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമുണ്ട്. ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് കൃത്യമായ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തണം’ – കോലി പറഞ്ഞു.
